Welcome to UNC Charlotte Special Collections.
Atkins Library Special Collections and University Archives documents the history and culture of UNC Charlotte and the Charlotte region. Our collections include manuscripts (the personal archives of individuals and families as well as those of local organizations), the university's records and oral history recordings.
Finding aids are guides to archival collections. They usually contain a history of the person or organization that produced the collection and a description or inventory of the collection’s contents. Here you will find guides for archival collections, including manuscripts and university records, as well as limited information regarding oral history recordings. Finding aids are available for online browsing and keyword searching. When digital content is available, the finding aid may link to it.
Finding aids help you find physical collections you may be interested in viewing. The collections can then be requested in the reading room on the 10th floor of Atkins Library.
