Reproduction on modern parchment, "This historical map was produced especially for hte Mecklenburg Furniture Shops as a means to keep alive the heritage of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. Knowledge of what our forefathers did to build this great community can serve as challenge for today's citizens to continue striving to make an even greater tomorrow." Map shows the Catawba Indian Nation, border of Mecklenburg and Tryons County, land ceded to Union County in 1842, and land ceded to Cabarrus County in 1792.
