Biographical / Historical

The UNCC Rotaract Club began in 1968 as a sponsored program of the Charlotte North Rotary Club. It is a leadership and community service organization that aims to help teach young men and women to be leaders in their communities. The UNCC Club was the first Rotaract Club to be chartered in the world, now there are over 9,030 clubs in 177 countries. The name "Rotaract" originally came from a combination of "Rotary" and "Interact," a high school program sponsored by Rotary International. The name "Rotaract" stands for "Rotary in Action."
