Vertical File Collection
Scope and Contents
The Vertical File Collection was collected and organized by Special Collections and University Archives faculty and staff to aid in the research of topics from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region. Many documents from the collection document local government and organizations.
Access to Collection
Collection is open for research; access requires at least 24 hours advance notice.
Conditions Governing Use
Some material may be copyrighted or restricted. It is the patron's obligation to determine and satisfy copyright or other case restrictions when publishing or otherwise distributing materials found in the collections.

Contains material collected and organized by Special Collections and University Archives faculty and staff to aid in the research of topics from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region. Many documents from the collection document local government and organizations.
The collection is arranged into the following fifteen series: Buildings, Hospitals, Hotels, Neighborhoods/Communities, Religious Institutions, Textile Mills, Theatres, Miscellaneous, Professional Sports, Prominent People, Mecklenburg County facilities located near UNC Charlotte campus, Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools Related Groups, Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools - Subject Files and Charlotte Mecklenburg Agencies and Issues. There are also several files that do not belong to any series.
Collection organized by Marilyn Schuster, Local Documents Librarian, into loose subject areas. No additional processing anticipated at this time.
