Biographical / Historical

Jeffery Beam was born on April 4, 1953 in Kannapolis, North Carolina and moved to Orange county in 1975. He has become well-established as a poet and his works have appeared in many anthologies and magazines. His work fuses the spiritual and physical worlds, creating a conversation between the natural world, the body and the spirit. Beam retired as a botanical librarian at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011 after 35 years of service.
