Identifier: MS0278
Scope and Contents
Mid-nineteenth century valentines. Both are ivory colored and lacy in design and texture. One (n.d.) is heart-shaped with a purse-like attachment that opens to read, "I'll share with thee thy sorrow And thou thy joy with me." The other (1862) is rectangular-shaped and decorated with ribbon and fabric. It shows a young woman in a garden setting; the handwritten inscription reads "I received this Valentine feb 14 1862 A. L.
