Miles Pinkney Pegram was born Nov. 27, 1834 and died Dec. 16, 1915. He served in the Confederate Army, Thirty-seventh infantry, during the Civil War. Pegram was the son of Winchester Pegram and Mary Stowe. He married Victoria Louise Tate, daughter of Thomas Randolph Tate and Annie Laura Humphries, November 1876. She was born 11 April 1853 and died 4 June 1882. Miles Pinckney was a prominent banker in Charlotte, being President of the First National Bank (The First National Bank of Charlotte, North Carolina was organized August, 1865). He likewise owned property in Charlotte and other areas of Mecklenburg County.
