Scope and Contents

The collection is a miscellany of materials (cards, flyers, brochures, programs, etc.) from the Charlotte gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. It also includes three or four posters about Charlotte Gay Pride, and "Coming Out" events. These materials are duplicates from the collection at Duke.

Biographical Note

Dan Kirsch is activist, community organizer, and theater director. He was executive director of Charlotte's Lesbian and Gay Community Center. Kirsch also founded One Voice Chorus, a gay, lesbian and gay-affirmative chorus in Charlotte, NC, and OutCharlotte, an annual cultural festival that celebrated LGBT culture through theater, dance, music, visual art, film and video.
