Scope and Contents
All footage is 16mm color, double-system sound, contained in 10 boxes. Footage is on cores, some original, some prints. All full mag-coat sound rolls and original 1/5-inch audio tape reels.

Conditions Governing Use
The "Discover Charlotte" Films collection is the physical property of the J. Murrey Atkins Library Special Collections, University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Literary rights, including copyright, belong to the authors or their legal heirs and assigns.
"Discover Charlotte" consists of films about Charlotte history, cultural events, and prominent individuals. The films were shot in 1968 by Tom Spain Films of Princeton, NJ. The finished project was presented by Charlotte Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company.

"Discover Charlotte" consists of 16mm films about Charlotte history, cultural events, and local celebrities and notables. The film project is also referred to as "Charlotte" and also as "Charlotte on Film" and "Charlotte Film Collection."
Immediate Source of Acquisition
The materials were donated by Duke Power in 1991.
