Primarily letters from John F. Williams to Ethel Trotter Williams, both before and after they were married. In the early letters, which he wrote while on business in Massachusetts and New York, he expresses his love for her and repeatedly tells her how much he misses her - a theme he continued in the later letters, most of which he wrote while Ethel was visiting her mother in Black Mountain, N.C.
