Scope and Contents Siller, an enslaved girl, was approximately ten years old when she was transferred between enslavers. She was transferred from Elijah Patton Chambers and Margaret Chambers to Joseph Brown to Joseph Brown for $185.

Scope and Contents Dowd's letter, concerning military activities during the Civil War, suggest that it was written latter than than the date of January 1861. Dowd also wrote about the working and living condiitons of slaves on the coast of Florida, and family matters.
