Scope and Contents note Records include include a land deed (1810) transferring land near Pinkneyville (possibly the tract later to become the Farrar plantation) from James Smith to Evan Tilman; document (1864) signed by overseer W. C. Nicholas Jr., in Charlottesville, Va., describing injuries received by an enslaved person working on the defenses around Richmond; and a certificate (1877) verifying J. C. and C. D. Farrar as executors of the estate of Elizabeth S. Farrar.
