Finances and Gifts

Scope and Contents

From the Series: This series documents the various administrative functions of Charlotte College, including but not limited to records from the Board of Trustees, financial records and gifts, such as that from the Celanese Corporation, and reports to various organizations. Surveys, memorandums, policy statements, and planning records are also included as are files on traffic management, security, a student bus service, and a 1964 speaker ban.

Among the richest sources for statistical data on the growth of Charlotte College during the years 1956-1960 are the files on the Southern Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, which include correspondence and annual reports submitted to the association to achieve and maintain accreditation.

Numerous committee files are also included and have been kept together in a subseries within this series even though there is some topical cross-over into other series, such as with the Faculty, Athletic, and Curriculum committees.

The series is made up of six subseries and numerous single files. The subseries are Accreditation; Trustees; Finances and Gifts; Committees; Reports; and Guest Registers.
