High Schools, Colleges, and Universities, 1949-1965
Scope and Contents
The North Carolina State College subseries consists of three files from 1949 to 1964, the first two of which include information on a special course of study designed for engineering students to take the first two years of their work in Charlotte and to transfer to North Carolina State College for their final two years. Also documented is the offering of undergraduate and graduate courses by the N. C. State College Division of College Extension through Charlotte College from 1958 to 1961.
The University of North Carolina subseries contains correspondence and material on the 1963 Advisory Council on Educational Policy. Graduate extension courses from 1955 to 1959 and institutional studies from 1963 to 1964 are other topics included.
Some of the other schools represented in the single files are Davidson College, Gaston College, the University of California-Santa Cruz, Western Piedmont Community College, Western Union High School, and Wilmington College. Files on a regional education laboratory, the Central Industrial Education Center, and the South Piedmont Region Science Fair are also included.
