Collection Development and Maintenance
Sub-Series
Scope and Contents
From the Series:
The Library Units and Functions series contains organizational charts and information about reorganization of library units, photographs of library staff, and material originating from or pertaining to numerous library units or departments such as cataloging, circulation, and reference, or to the carrying out of functions such as assessment and collection maintenance. Also included are material concerning the student mural project in the Architecture Library and video recordings produced by Media Services of campus scenes and events such as men’s basketball tournaments, Chancellor Woodward’s installation, and the groundbreaking of the Student Activity Center (SAC). Recordings of Bonnie Cone are included as well.
While the Assessment files contain some statistical data, most of the statistical files are located in the Statistics series.
The records in this series were either transferred from the Library Director’s office or were transferred from specific units or departments within the library. See the provenance note for more information. During reprocessing, the files were combined in the inventory for ease of research but were maintained physically separate. Some of the material dates to the Charlotte College years.
In addition to several single files, the series has been divided into the following sixteen subseries: Assessment; Cataloging; Circulation; Collection Development and Maintenance; Copy Center; Documents; Instruction; Inter-Library Loan; Media Services; Reference; Serials; Special Collections and University Archives; Technical Services; and Systems.
