Overview

Historic Washington Heights bridges the eras of the past and the gateways to the future. Positioned along the Beatties Ford corridor and with strong ties to Johnson C. Smith University, West Charlotte High School, The Northwest School of the Arts, and other bedrock institutions, this community takes special pride in its historic connections and works diligently to preserve them. Either by pursing historic designation for the neighborhood and connecting to residents to learn their stories or connecting to local organizations to invest in the future, Historic Washington Heights builds a foundation to preserve history and pave the way for a bright tomorrow.
