Abstract

Grady Walker discusses his memories of living next to Irwin Creek throughout his entire life. He recalls never having used the creek for swimming because he always used swimming pools. He discusses how growing up near the creek affected his life.

Biographical Note

Grady Walker was a 57-year-old man at the time of this interview, which took place in the Irwin Creek garden in Revolution Park, Charlotte, North Carolina. He was born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina and educated through the 12th grade. He was employed as a barber.
