Overview The collection consists mostly of land indentures, promissory notes, chattel mortgages and receipts for consumer goods concerning primarily the Cochran family in eastern Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, dating from 1823 to 1889. The collection also includes a scrapbook of photographs of an obscure provenance, dating to the early twentieth century.
