Scope and Contents One sterling key (4.9 cm) to the City of Charlotte embossed "Stan Brookshire, Mayor" on verso. The key was given to Betty Yelton Alexander in 1991 recognition of 30.5 years of service in the City of Charlotte Purchasing Department (1961-1991). Brookshire served as mayor of Charlotte from 1961-1969. Betty Yelton Alexander died in 2014 at age 82. She was a native of Rutherford County, NC but resided much of her adult life in Charlotte, NC. Overview Account book for a general goods store on North Tryon Street in Charlotte operated by James Kirk and Edwin Alexander, a son of Maj. Thomas Alexander. Entries begin on July 28, 1819 and go through March 28, 1821. Among those with accounts at the store were Thomas G. Polk, Samuel C. Caldwell, Isaac Alexander, and Robert Wilson.

Dan Kirsch papers concerning the Charlotte LGBT community

Scope and Contents The collection is a miscellany of materials (cards, flyers, brochures, programs, etc.) from the Charlotte gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. It also includes three or four posters about Charlotte Gay Pride, and "Coming Out" events. These materials are duplicates from the collection at Duke.

Overview This collection consists of manuscripts and other material relating to Mary Norton Kratt's writing: including books, articles, and poetry (published and unpublished). Scope and Contents The Levine Museum of the New South collection is divided into thirteen series that cover a variety of historical topics related to the Charlotte region during the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. First Tuesday (1989-1992), represents the largest and most comprehensive run in the collection (18 issues).
