Overview Samantha Gellar was a sixteen-year-old high school student at Northwest School of the Arts in Charlotte, North Carolina, when she wrote "Life Versus the Paperback Romance." The play, which dealt with lesbian romance, received a playwright's award from the Charlotte Young Playwright's Festival. Materials relate to the controversial production of Samantha Gellar's 1998 play "Life Versus the Paperback Romance."

General Textile Mill Strike papers

R. Summers, concerning the strike.

Nicholas Biddle Gibbon papers

Overview Thirty-page typescript transcription of the Civil War memoirs of Nicholas Biddle Gibbon, written between 1861 and 1866, and describing his service in North Carolina and Virginia as a drill master and commissary in the 1st and 28th North Carolina Regiments. Also includes genealogical information about Gibbon's family and that of his wife, Harriet Cornelia Alexander, a descendant of Hezekiah Alexander. All materials are reproductions.
