Describes her journey to Raleigh by sea and stagecoach, social events in Raleigh, and subsequent travels and teaching (1822-41) in Augusta, Ga., Amenia, Salisbury, N.C., and Charlotte. Also includes a biographical sketch by Robert S. Hutchison, her grandson, and clippings relating to him.
